  1. Title Slide(Maybe your attention getter here or Presentation Title)

  2. Introduction – Slide 1 • Introduce Yourself • Your name • Your lab • Home School (if you wish) • Your topic (You shouldn’t write a narrative here. Instead, write what your topic is and then know that you will explain this to the judges) This is the slide where you will introduce yourself!

  3. Attention Getter – Slide 2 • If you didn’t use your attention getter on the title slide, THIS is where you will include the attention getter. • You might use the same attention getter that you used for your paper? Maybe it changes a little? Maybe you want to change it all together?

  4. Thesis – Slide 3 • This is where you will write your thesis. • While this slide is on the screen, you will want to explain the following: • What I wanted to learn • How this project relates to my lab • What areas you chose to research that related to your product (your subcategories) This slide is meant to outline your presentation which is exactly what your thesis did in your paper. You should include the thesis somewhere on this slide as well.

  5. Research – Slide 4 • Subcategory 1 • Major findings • Subcategory 2 • Major findings • Subcategory 3 • Major findings • Subcategory 4 • Major findings Note: each person has a different amount of research they will want to share. It is your choice how you want to organize your information. It is likely that you may want more than one slide, that’s fine! You decide how it will work best for you. Remember to copy reference page citations at the bottom of pages that present factual information.

  6. Product Development – Slide 5 • What I made for my product • Describe your product • Include pictures if possible • Describe materials needed (if necessary describe where the materials came from)

  7. Procedures – Slide 6 • Include bullet points of the major steps it took to complete your product. Do not spell out in a narrative form what it took. Instead bullet and then during the presentation, explain. Remember: bullet points are there to help you stay focused and should be used to help you remember what you want to talk about.

  8. Results – Slide 7 • The end result • How did your product turn out? • Did you have problems with the product? How did you solve them? • Did it cost more or less than planned? • Was it successful? • What was easy or hard about creating the product? • What did you do well? What could you have done differently?

  9. Reflection – Slide 8 • What did you learn from doing this project? • Did you enhance skills learned in lab? • How is this project beneficial to your field/industry/community/school/lab? • How can you apply what you learned from doing this project to your life and future career?

  10. Conclusion – Slide 9 • Wrap up all ideas • Restate main points (think in terms of your thesis) • Emphasize WHY your product is important to your field • Inspiring thoughts – Leave the audience with something to remember

  11. End – Slide 10 • Thank your audience • Ask for questions
