Welcome Back to School!

Welcome to the new school year! I’m Mrs. L. Thomas, your 6th-grade teacher at 1337 Broadway Road, Sanford, NC. My contact number is 919-776-8441 ext. 1114 and my email is lthomas.elms@lee.k12.nc.us. In our class, I expect students to show respect and responsibility. Parents are encouraged to communicate, check homework daily, and attend conferences. I will enforce class rules, provide individualized instruction, and send progress reports home every 4.5 weeks. Let’s work together for a great year filled with learning and fun!

  3. Student Expectations • State the behavior that you expect from your students • Homework • Behavior • Class work

  4. Parent Expectations • Communicate with teachers. • Check homework daily. • Make sure student’s have necessary materials for school. • Attend conferences • Send a note when absent • Volunteer

  5. Teacher Expectations • Enforce class rules. • Encourage students to do their best. • Individualized instruction • Progress reports sent home every 4 and ½ weeks.

  6. Discipline Procedures • Familiarize yourself with the student handbook and team rules and procedures. • Familiarize yourself with Mrs. Thomas’s rules and consequences.

  7. Supplies • Check school supply list. • Let Mrs. Thomas know if you have any needs.

  8. Special Events/Highlights • Behavior reward days. • Academic reward days. • Field Day • Field Trips • Special incentives from the team or Mrs. Thomas

  9. Other Important Information • Student has 3 days to bring in a note when student has been absent. • Student also needs a note when they are tardy. • Please send back papers and report cards signed as requested by teacher. • A school nurse is available.
