Course Selection Timeline • January 14th to 30th:Teacher Recommendations • February 5th to 8th: Course Selection Week • 2/5/19: Class of 2022 • 2/6/19: Class of 2021 • 2/8/19: Class of 2020 • February 8th to March 29th: Course Selection Meetings • Student/ Parent meetings with Counselors • Signups through Guidance Website from January 25th through February 2nd • Course Verification sheets due back by April 1, 2019

UMHS Pathways Academic • College Preparation • Rigorous Academic Course Load Eastern Center • Trade or Vocational Training beginning in Junior Year • Half day instruction at UMHS and Eastern Center for Technology • Must have completed World Language and Personal Finance Requirements prior to junior year 2+1+2 Program • Complete college courses through Montgomery County Community College in Junior and Senior year • Graduate with UMHS diploma and 30 college credits • Must be proficient in all Keystones prior to Junior year • Must have completed World Language and Personal Finance Requirements prior to junior year

Credit Requirements * Includes World Languages courses (two or more years of a language taken at the high school is required for all students; three or more years are strongly recommended for students who are seeking matriculation at highly competitive colleges or universities.) **7 credits are required between Math and Science with at least 3 credits earned in each one.

AP Courses • 18 AP Offerings • All students are strongly encouraged to sit for the AP Exam in May • Students who score a 3 or higher are reimbursed for their exams costs • New for 2019-2020 • AP Exam Registration Deadline is November 15th • Late Registration after 11/15 will incur a $40 charge • Cancellation of registration will incur a $40 Charge

Eastern Center for the Arts & Technology • 14 Program Offerings • Half Day Program (4 Elective Credits) • Enrich your HS experience while preparing for a post-high school career pathway • Possible work experience for 2nd year students • Reference Pages 97 to 109 of the Course Selection Guide for more information.

  12. Montco 2+1+2 Program • Partnership between UMHS and MCCC that offers Juniors and Seniors the opportunity to obtain 30 credits towards their associates degree • Courses taken at the Montco’s Blue Bell campus as well as here at UMHS • Reference Pages 92 to 96 of the Course Selection Guide for more information. • Parent & student informational meetings on Tuesday, January 29th and also Tuesday, February 6th at 7 pm in the HS Audion

  13. Teacher Recommendations • January 14th through January 30th • Teachers are making academic recommendations based on current placement and academic standing • Please Review Prerequisites for Freshman Courses

  14. February 6th • Course Selection during Bear Block in the HS Auditorium • Complete hard copy and submit to your counselor • Prior to February 6th • Review Course Selection Guide found on UMHS website • Discuss Core courses with parents and teachers • Discuss elective choices with your parents
