Mrs. Ogden’s Classroom 5/27 – 5/30 2nd / 3rd Grade Kristi.ogden@triadunit2.org • We will be sending home school supplies throughout this week so that students are struggling to take everything home next Monday! Be sure to clean out those backpacks each night to make room for more!  • We will be having a Spelling Bee this Friday! I will be sending home a list of all the words from 1st grade to your child’s current grade. He/she will be responsible for spelling the words in the corresponding lists. (ie 3rd graders will study 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade lists. 2nd graders will study 1st and 2nd grade lists). We will then have a 2nd grade Spelling Bee and a 3rd Grade Spelling Bee! • We get to visit the 3rd and 4th Grade classrooms this week and see what the next grade will be like-so exciting! Math 2nd: This week we will be working on place value (to the hundreds), taking apart hundreds, and determining number patterns. At home practice: ixl-geometry, double digit addition and/or subtraction, multiplication, and fractions. 3rd: This week we will be finishing our unit on measurement and data and taking our Chapter Test At home practice: ixl-multipliction, division, measurement, and fractions. English This week were are continuing work on prepositional phrases, and learning how to add them to our writing! We will also be writing a letter to incoming 2nd graders to let them know how exciting next year will be! Science We will continue to present our Planet Presentations this week! Marine Hornets Upcoming Events: 5/27: Summer Splash Day 5/30: Marine’s Got Talent-am 5/30: Field Day-pm 5/30: Ms. Ogden’s Class Spelling Bee 6/2: Last Day of School-report cards, school awards, Marine’s Got Talent reveal! 6/2: Dismissal @ 11:45! 6/2: Report Cards go home!
