  8. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances It is so hot you strip down to t-shirts and shorts to stay cool click here

  9. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances You are very hot and begin to feel sick. You have a pounding head-ache. You can stop and do something about it but you will lose time click here or Carry on – Man-up. It has got to improve - hasn’t it . click here Two possibilities or here

  10. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances You lie down in shade, drink lots and dampen your clothes. After an hour or so you are able to go on. click here

  11. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances By evening you realise you are badly burned. In places it is not just red but is very dark, stiff and painful and beginning to blister. You have to call for medivac & spend 4 days in hospital. Your Exped is over. Hard Luck. Go back to the start and try some different choices click here

  12. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances You begin to drop behind the others – but you don’t care. You just want to go to sleep. You are violently sick and have diarrhoea click here

  13. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances You become incoherent and unresponsive. You are rushed to hospital. 24hrs intensive care and 4 more days before your parents who have flown out can take you home. You had Heatstroke. When you are feeling better go back to the start and try some other choices click here

  14. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances You are running out of water so decide to take some from a clear bubbling stream. It is obviously fresh & clean click here You are running out of water so decide to use what you have & boil & treat some country water at your lunch stop click here A little luck here or here

  15. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances A few hours later you begin to feel ill. You carry on but You are violently sick and have diarrhoea. You are very weak. click here

  16. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances You call for medivac. You are very ill in hospital while they run tests. You have an ambulance flight home and are in hospital for a month. It is six months before you fully recover from Weil’s Disease. Be aware of Weil’s disease – you can get it in UK too. Go back to the start and try some different choices. click here

  17. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances You complete the day’s route and the exped. You win the belt OK – you won the belt but it could easily have gone wrong. Go back to the start and see if you can win the belt without luck! click here

  18. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances You complete the day’s route and the exped. You win the belt but by the time you get home you feel as if you have flu. It doesn’t improve and eventually you are diagnosed with Cryptospirosis. You are in hospital and very ill for a long time. Hard Luck – Not a good outcome. Go back to the start and try some different choices. click here

  19. Make Your Choices or Take Your Chances Boiling water in combination with ‘puritab’-type treatment is fairly effective but only if boiled for some time. Some pathogens, particularly Cryptospirosis, are resistant to brief boiling and even chemical treatment (and it tastes awful). Boiling will not have any effect on chemical, mineral or industrial pollution. There is nothing special to the Czech Republic about the illnesses mentioned here. You can get them all in the UK (though heatstroke would be a fat chance) The only good advice is to drink water from safe known sources. Click to restart
