  2. Mobile Phone screens have seen huge innovations since the launch of the iPhone in 2007. Apple was the first phone maker to make use of capacitive touch panels, that are designed to be used with fingers. This is unlike resistive touch-screens used majorly before the iPhone, where you needed a pointing apparatus like a stylus to operate. Now almost every phone above the Rs. 5,000 mark uses a capacitive panel. While Apple has stuck to LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screens, its arch enemy Samsung has preferred AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) panels for its range of high-end smartphones. AMOLED screens typically have higher contrast and deeper blacks than LCDs, thanks to a feature called localised pixel dimming. What that means is, when a black image shows on screen, individual pixels in that portion simply turn off. AMOLEDs are also known to be more power efficient. Samsung developed the 'Super' AMOLED type of screens over the years, to improve upon one of the crucial flaws of AMOLED - low legibility under sunlight.CheckoutGodeHøretelefoner more info.

  3. Apple with the introduction of the iPhone 4, brought two important improvements to mobile phone display tech. The first and most popular, is the "Retina" moniker. By quadrupling the pixel density, individual pixels are almost invisible to the human eye. The second improvement is the introduction of IPS (In-Plane Switching) which gives wider viewing angles without banding of colours. This is important for handheld devices like cellphones that can be held at various angles. Outside of Apple's camp, Super LCD displays have been used by phone makers like HTC that improve upon power consumption, reduces glare and improves outdoor visibility. While Apple at the moment has halted in the pixel density race at the 326 PPI mark on their iPhones, Android manufacturers are racing far beyond that by squeezing Full HD resolution in their flagship smartphones. That's 1920 x 1080 pixels fit into a 5-inch something screen, taking the PPI mark to a whopping 440+. By the way, you should know that's the same number of pixels you'll find on many LCD TVs today.Do you want to learn more? Visit airpods.
