ANCP Protocol design team • The ANCP Protocol draft is about to enter it’s final straight towards a last call. • Requires fair bit of new work • Do this rapidly and thoroughly • The WG Chairs have asked a small design team to carry out the following design work: • Produce the text for protocol extensions and/or modification to address the requirements of multicast control. • Ensure protocol meets the requirements/framework • Implement comments from the list • The target for the completion of this activity is March 2008

ANCP gaps • DSL Forum WT-147 v1.7 reveals the following high level gaps wrt the latest ANCP framework doc: • Topology Discovery • Access Node Uplink • Access Port Configuration • Allows configuration of parameters beyond the DSL modem train rate, eg ACLs, VLAN assignment, .1p mapping parameters, policer • “Opening and closing” of access loop • Multicast • Assignment of “multicast VLAN” • Periodic membership reporting • Other gap (from WG alias) • Link bundling • NAS MIB • … • Which of these do we need to address?
