Dear Brethren, If we are to examine more closely the language, culture, and consciousness of our beloved Craft, we must determine where to begin and what better place to begin than at the beginning. So, the question becomes, "When did the beginning begin?" Well, no one knows for sure but in the interest of time, suffice it to say the beginning began in truth. So, you are probably asking yourself, "Why truth?" Well, the answer is quite simple, all things have their origin in truth. Whether large or small, seen or unseen, alive or dead, good or bad, all things have their origin in truth, sprang forth from truth, and as a result embody all of the aspects of truth which are emanations of the most profound truth of all - Deity. Now, in light of this revelation, it is reasonable for us to conclude the following: If all things have their origin in truth, spring forth from truth, and as a result embody all of the aspects of truth which are emanations of the most profound truth of all - Deity, then all things that have their origin in truth, spring forth from truth, and as a result embody all of the aspects of truth which are emanations of the most profound truth of all - Deity, by virtue of their very nature, are innately divine. I apologize for the repetitious manner in which I have presented this claim but it is meant to underscore the importance and significance of the more life-giving truth - youare innately divine. This all important life-giving truth, the truth of divinity within oneself and as a result connectedness to God, is the cornerstone upon which the foundation of Freemasonry is laid and it is in the journey toward the rediscovery of this life-giving truth that the candidate of Freemasonry is initiated Entered Apprentice Mason, passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft, and raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason. Therefore, brethren, in closing, it is for this reason that if we are to examine more closely, the language, culture, and consciousness of our beloved Craft, that our beginning begin in truth and so... we begin!
