What is OET Role-Play? • OET Speaking sub-test includes role-plays in which candidates are required to play roles specifically according to their profession.   In each role-play, candidate plays the role according to their profession while the interlocutor will play the role of a client, patient or sometimes patient’s career or relative. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog/oet/

  3. Avoid one word or short answers • Avoid answering in one word or short sentences as they tend to stop the conversation. Always speak about what you have been asked to in detail. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog/oet/

  4. Clear your doubts • After you have read what the role-play is, clear your doubts if you have any before the role-play starts. You can ask the examiner if you have not understood anything or clarify your doubts.  https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog/oet/

  5. Take notes • You can take notes on card if required. There are usually 4-5 points which you need to cover.  You can write down important details or information which you think can be used while you are playing a role. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog/oet/

  6. Maintain eye-contact • Maintain proper eye-contact with the examiner. It makes you look confident about yourself.   7. Be the first to start • Do not rely on the interlocutor to start the conversation.
