LABORATORIO DE TIEMPO Y FRECUENCIA Las unidades de base del Sistema Internacional de Unidades - SI Base units of the International UnitsSystem - SI • En 1875 se firma la Convención del Metro, estableciendo tres organizaciones internacionales para supervisar el mantenimiento de los estándares métricos. In 1875 the Metre Convention was signed, a treaty that established three international organizations to monitor the maintenance of metric standards. • Oficina Internacional de Pesas y Medidas (BIPM) Centro de metrología internacional en Sèvres - Francia. International Weights and Measures Bureau (Bureau International des Poids et Mesures or BIPM) - a metrologyinternational center Sèvres - France. • Conferencia General de Pesas y Medidas (CGPM) Se reúnen cada 4 o 6 años delegados de todos los Estados miembros. General Weights and Measures Conference (ConférenceGénérale des Poids et Mesures or GFCM) - A meeting hold every 4-6 years with delegates of all the states that are members. • Comité Internacional de Pesas y Medidas (CIPM) Comité administrativo que se reúne anualmente en el BIPM. International Weights and Measures Committee (International Committee for Weights and Measures, or CIPM), an administrative committee which meets annually at the BIPM.

LABORATORIO DE TIEMPO Y FRECUENCIA Las unidades de base del Sistema Internacional de Unidades - SI Base units of the International UnitsSystem - SI • 1948: 9ª Conferencia del CGPM: solicita al CIPM un estudio internacional sobre la medición de las necesidadesde las comunidades científica, técnica y educativa. 1948: 9th General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM), requests an international study of measurement of the scientific, technical and educational communities needs to the CIPM. • 1954: 10ª Conferencia del CGPM: se establecen las seis unidades de base recomendadas por el CIPM: metro, kilogramo, segundo, amper, kelvin, candela. 1954: 10th General Weights and Measures Conference (CGPM) decided to establish six base units that were recommended by the CIPM: meter, kilogram, second, ampere, kelvin, candela. • 1971: 14 ª CGPM se añade la 7a unidad base: mol. 1971: 14th CGPM added the 7th base unit: mole.

It is signer of the Mutual Recognition Agreement whose text is published in the website of the BIPM.

For this purpose, in order to demonstrate confidence in the calibrations, INTI participates in key comparisons organized by the CIPM or by the RMO's, such as SIM in which it is member. • Confianza: • evaluación de un Organismo de Acreditación ; • evaluación de tercera parte. This requirement can be demonstrated in two different ways: • by the assessment of an Accreditation Organism • by a third party assessment
