  1. QuickBooks Error H202- In a Nutshell Small and medium-sized business organizations widely use QuickBooks to fulfill the accounting needs. It has several features, such as multi-mode, enabling users to work on the same file simultaneously. QuickBooks Error H202 is an inevitable error caused due to an internal or external glitch. It basically occurs when the workstation fails to communicate with the company file and doesn’t allow users to access it.

  2. QuickBooks Error Message H202- In simple terms QuickBooks Error Message H202 appears on the screen while switching to multi-user mode. The error code comes along with an error message that says, “You are trying to work with a company file that is located on another computer, and this copy of QuickBooks cannot reach the server on that computer. (H202)” Before you apply the steps to troubleshoot this error, it is essential to understand the causes of Error H202. 

  3. What causes QuickBooks Error H202? QuickBooks Error H202 appears on the screen when QuickBooks is unable to connect to the remote server. There are numerous reasons which trigger this error. Some of the most common reasons are mentioned below.  • The error may occur due to the wrong QuickBooks file hosting or configuration. • Maybe QuickBooks communication is blocked by a security software of a firewall. • The error may occur when an IP address is unreachable. • Clash in multiple database server manager version running.

Steps to Fix Error Code H202 QuickBooks 2018 • Firstly, open QuickBooks on all the systems that are networked for using QuickBooks. • Now, click on the File menu and select Utilities, and turn of hosting. • On the QuickBooks Host Computer, you must press the Windows key and type this “This PC.” • Double-click the Network option to verify that all the networked are visible. • After that, ping all the workstations respectively from the QuickBooks Host computer. • Start to ping the QuickBooks Server / Host from the computer showing QB Error Code H202. • The command for the ping test has to be done on Command Prompt. • Ping command syntax: ping [Computer Name]. • Click Enter.
