Comparison of Sporulation Intensity in S. erythraea Strains on ABSM4 and R5 Agar Media
This study investigates the differences in sporulation intensity between two S. erythraea strains, ABE1441 and NRRL23338 (wild type), when cultured on ABSM4 and R5 agar media. Following established methods (Kieser et al., 2000), both strains were plated on the same agar plates with ABE1441 on the upper half and NRRL23338 on the lower half. The results highlight significant variances in sporulation, contributing valuable insights into the growth conditions of these strains.
