  5. population: relating to the number of people or animals living in a certain place We have a large population of deer in our area. What problems occur when the population gets too large?

  6. tranquilizer: a drug used to calm a person or animal. These vets can treat the tiger because it has been tranquilized. What other situations have you heard about where an animal had to be tranquilized?

  7. surrounding: on all sides of Woods were surrounding the log cabin. What is surrounding your house: woods, open space, or other houses?

  8. wobbled: moved unsteadily The newborn giraffe wobbled when he tried to get up. All baby mammals are wobbly when they are learning to walk.
