Proposed Solution • Generic Tunnel Tracing Protocol (GTTP) • Similar to traceroute • Probes and Responses • Response carries more information than ICMP Time Expired Message • Operates in phases • First phase discovers top level IP path • Top level details include identifier for supporting tunnels • Second phase discovers supporting tunnels • Additional phases if required
