  1. Types of CNC Machines Some of the most common processes operated by CNC include ultrasonic welding, hole drilling and laser cutting. The most used machines in CNC systems include the following: CNC Milling Machines CNC milling machines are capable of running in programs that consist of indications based on numbers and letters, which guide the pieces through several distances. The programming used for a milling machine could be based on a G code or on some unique language developed by a manufacturing team. Lathes In lathe cnc precision machining, the pieces are cut in a circular direction with index able tools. With CNC technology, the cuts used by the lathes are made with precision and high speed. CNC lathes are used to produce complex designs that would not be possible in the manual versions of the machine. In general, the control functions of CNC mills and lathes are similar.

  2. Plasma Cutters The process is mainly applied to metallic materials, but it can also be used on other surfaces. To produce the speed and heat needed to cut metal, the plasma is generated through a combination of compressed air gas and electric arcs. Electric Discharge Machines Electrical discharge machining (EDM), alternatively called die-cutting and spark-machining, is a process that molds work pieces in particular shapes with electric sparks. With the EDM, current discharges occur between two electrodes, and this eliminates the sections of a particular work piece. When the space between the electrodes becomes smaller, the electric field becomes more intense and, therefore, stronger than the dielectric. Consequently, the parts of a work piece are removed by each electrode. Water Jet Cutters In cnc precision machining, water jets are tools that cut hard materials, such as granite and metal, with high-pressure water applications. In some cases, the water mixes with sand or some other strong substance. The parts of the factory machine are often molded through this process. Water jets are used as a cooler alternative for materials that cannot withstand the heat- intensive processes of other CNC machines. As such, water jets are used in a range of sectors, such as the aerospace and mining industries, where the process is powerful for cutting and cutting purposes, among other functions.
