  1. Thailand is one of the most favored tropical destinations you will like to visit and over again. If this is your first time then you will find this guide helpful for your Thailand travel. Weather It never gets extremely hot because there is a breeze and the ocean nearby. It can also rain heavily from July to October. So, December to April is the best times to plan your visit. Cottons will keep you cool. Do include sunscreen, beachwear and mosquito repellents in your pack along with a first aid kit. Customs It is wise to follow local customs like folding your hands in a Namaste to greet people. Take shoes off when you enter temples and wear appropriate full body covering dresses. It is simply not a wise thing to do to speak disrespectfully of the king. Do keep in mind not to touch anyone on the head and never point feet at anyone. People are friendly with tourists and will strike up a conversation. Humor them. People here may not like the idea of queues and will crowd around so do the best. Practice Mai Pen Rai which means no worries, don’t sweat it. In other words take everything lightly. It is the custom to remove shoes when you enter hopes and establishments. Getting around Getting around is no big deal. There are trains and buses to various parts of the country. Local travel is by tuk tuks, a roller coaster experience. Taxis are available and should be preferred for night transportation. Just make sure you fix the fare beforehand. Do not listen to their offers or suggestions. Travelling by Songthaews or local minibuses is a low cost option. You can just as well hire a motorcycle taxi or rent one. On the whole it is safe to travel but try to travel as a couple or in groups. Maybe if you opt for Thailand tour packages local travel may not become a problem.

  2. Food Thailand offers a variety of foods, fresh and wholesome. Eat in restaurants. It does not cost a packet. Street food is even better. You can order a seven course meal, piping hot, and gulp down each as one dish arrives after another. It is cheap. As for water, you can buy bottled water at a low price and beer is just as cheap. The crowded places are the best. Try to eat only cooked food and avoid raw vegetables. Accommodation Thailand has everything from top five star hotels to resorts to dorms.
