  2. 1865-born on the Omaha reservation in Nebraska. • 1870-1879-attended school on the reservation. • 1879-attended Elizabeth Institute for Young Ladies. • 1882-graduated school and worked at the mission school on the Omaha reservation. • 1884-1886-attended Hampton Normal and Agriculture Institute. • 1889-received a medical degree from Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania • 1906-her work on alcoholism brought about a stipulation from Washington that every property deed in the Omaha communities would prohibit the sale of alcohol. • September 18,1915- died in Walthill, Nebraska. melissa.lape@wsd.k12.az.us
