  2. INTRODUCTION Air,water,soil,human beings,animals and plants etc exists in a mutually interacting and interdependent manner. This is called the environment. Pollution is an undesirable change in physical, chemical or biological characteristics of air, land, water that may harmfully affected the life of an organism. Many human activities affected the environment causes pollution. Air, water and soil are the important elements will affect all living things. There are main three types of pollution. They are:- • Air pollution • Water pollution • Soil pollution • Sound pollution

  5. DATA COLLECTION Environment It is a much discussed term today. The word environment is not new. The new Malayalam word “Paristhithi” put forward as a counter part of English word “Environment” indicates a more expansive idea in-depth and technical meaning. The state institution of languages and the late N.V.Krishna warrier is thought to be behind it. In Hindi, the equivalent word is “Pariyavaram”. It might be because of the part awaram that some how this, then fails to convey the depth of Paristhithi. The term Ecology came into use in Kerala much later. The Malayalam translation turned into be “Paristhithi-Vijnanam” .The word Ecology has its origin from the Greek word “Oikas” this means habitat.

  6. About Pollution Pollution of an undesirable change in physical, chemical or biological characteristics of air, land and water that many harmful affected the life of an organism. We need an environment that helps create a favorable surrounding for the healthy existence and development of living organisms. But our environment is constantly being polluted by man made factors like growing industrialization, urbanization, population explosion and indiscriminate imploitation of natural resources – natural calamities like forest fire, volcanic eruptions , land slides , hurricanes and other disasters are also adding to the environment pollution. This is fast becoming a global issue that threatens of very existence of human race. To prevent our own environment from harming us we need to create an awareness among people of the consequence of environmental pollution and the importance of protecting it only constant efforts to bring awareness can save us from this perilous journey to down the purpose of this lesson is just that 10 find the importance and solution of these importance and the precautionary measures to be taken to nultify the disasterous

  8. AIR POLLUTION Atmospheric air get polluted by many gases which are harmful to human beings, plants and animals air pollution became more intense after 1950s. Pollution of air causes acid rain which harmfully affects the living organisms and buildings. The poisonous substance prevent in the atmosphere may gradually affect the fertility of the soil. The air we breath gets polluted by the presence of disease causing germs or microorganisms enters the body through the inhalation of polluted air. These causes diseases and disorders.
