Green Means GO!!!
Level One: Right There • The answer is right there in the text. • It does not require the students to think, only to read and find the answer which is RIGHT THERE!!
Blooms Level Associated with Level 1 • Knowledge • Comprehension
Yellow Means SLOW DOWN!
LEVEL 2SEARCH & FIND • The information to answer the question is found in the passage. • It may require the students to look in more than one place to find the answer OR to make an inference based on what they read. • They have to SEARCH the passage to FIND the answer.

Red means STOP!!
Level 3: Author and Me • The answers to these questions are not found in the passage. • The questions require the students to take what the author has given them and use what they know to take it a step further. • They must go beyond the text to get an answer. • They must STOP and think.

LEVEL 4: ON MY OWN • These questions are opinion based. • The answers to these questions are not found in the passage, they are found within the student. • These are opinion based questions. What would you do, how would you feel, etc.

Examples of questions from “Officials crack down on booze-serving parents” Level 1 Right There: According to American Medical Association, how many teens reported that it is easy to obtain alcohol from their parents? Level 2 Search & Find Give 2 tragedies from the article that occurred because of parents serving alcohol to high school teens.
