  2. Genesis 4:1-12 • Failing to realize silence does not mean consent- • Hebrews – offered “by faith” • Romans 10:17 - faith comes by hearing the word of God • When He specifies, all else is excluded • Leviticus 10:1,2 “strange fire” • Hebrews 7:14 – “spoke nothing”

The Way of Cain • Failing to realize the folly of human opinion in matters of religion- • Matthew 15:9 – “vain worship” • 1 Corinthians 4:6 “not go beyond that which is written” • Isaiah 55:8,9 “as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

  4. The Way of Cain • Failing to heed God’s plan for acceptable worship- • John 4:24 “in spirit & in truth” • Acts 2:42 “doctrine, breaking of bread, and in prayers” • Acts 20:7 “break bread..first day of the week” • 1 Corinthians 16:1,2 “lay by in store” • Colossians 3:16 – “sing”

Am I my brother’s keeper?” • The Folly of trying to cover Sin- • Genesis 4:10-cries out…from the ground • Genesis 3:8- hid in the garden • Joshua 7:20,21- hidden in the earth • Numbers 32:23 “sin find you out” • Hebrews 4:13 “no creature hidden”
