  3. Definitionof “Advocacy” • Act or process of supporting a cause or proposal • An advocate is a person who actively and vigorously supports a cause

  4. Advocating for us • Communicates regularly with legislators and policy makers about TESOL issues • Keeps us informed in those issues • Encourages communication between TESOL members and legislators • TESOL Advocacy

  5. Advocating with us • Offers all members opportunity to attend the annual Advocacy and Policy Summit in Washington DC • 2 days of learning-by-doing about the government and how we can be involved
