  2. What is the JSNA and who is it for? The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) identifies the key health and wellbeing needs of the population within the county. It is the place people go to get information and intelligence to support decision making. The JSNA focuses on evidence of need, evidence of what works and feedback from residents about what is important to them. You can influence what it contains.

  4. Did you know? It is predicted that almost 1 in 5 of the county’s population will be 65 or over by 2020 In 2012 it is predicted that there are 25,128 people aged 75 and over that live alone In 2009/10 there were over 1100 frequent flyers admitted as an emergency to NGH or KGH. These A&E frequent flyers accounted for 14% of all A&E attendances in 2009/10 The number of people aged over 85 is expected to increase by around 5,000 in the next ten years By 2020, there will be nearly 33,500 adults with diabetes, a rise of over 6,000 from 2010 In Corby the rate of emergency admissions for assault for under 35 year olds is more than double the national average The incidence of all cancers in Corby is well above the national average and in the worst quartile nationally In Corby nearly 36% of people smoke, compared to 22% nationally In Wellingborough, it is estimated that over 31% of the adult population is classed as an increasing or higher risk drinker
