  1. “Sir, We Wish To See Jesus” Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast. Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus” (Jn. 12:20-21). Now Herod was very glad when he saw Jesus; for he had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had been hearing about Him and was hoping to see some sign performed by Him (Lk. 23:8). What did men see when they saw Jesus?

  2. They Saw The Son of God And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” (Jn. 20:28). In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made…. 14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth (Jn. 1:1-3, 14). For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (Lk. 2:11).

  3. They Saw The Lamb of God The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn. 1:29). He was oppressed and He was afflicted,       Yet He opened not His mouth;       He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,       And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,       So He opened not His mouth (Isa. 53:7). Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot (1 Pet. 1:18-19).

  4. Stephen Saw Jesus At God’s Right Hand [Stephen] said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” (Acts 7:56). If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God (Col. 3:1).

  5. The Author and Finisher of Our Faith Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Heb 12:1-2). Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him (Heb. 5:8-9).

  6. Some Saw Jesus Die And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced” (Jn. 19:37). And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn (Zech. 12:10). But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone (Heb. 2:9). And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God” (Lk. 23:35).

  7. They Saw The Risen Savior For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time (1 Cor. 15:3-8). Therefore I will look to the LORD;       I will wait for the God of my salvation;       My God will hear me (Micah 7:7).
