Committee Responsibilities • FINANCE CHAIR & COMMITTEE – Finance chair and committee will be responsible for: • Organizing fundraising events • Tracking fundraising progress • Assisting in personal fundraising of team members • Soliciting donations of money, medications, and medical supplies • Tracking spending while in country and preparing financial report at end of trip • RESEARCH CHAIR & COMMITTEE – The research chair and committee will be responsible for: • Gathering information about the medical and public health needs of the communities • Establishing baseline and ongoing health indicators in order to track community progress • Gathering health information during the trip • Assessing the effectiveness of the team’s interventions • Seeking opportunities to present their findings in journals, at conferences, or in the Richmond community REACH 4 Ghana | PO Box 889, Richmond, VA 23218 | www.reach4ghana.org

Committee Responsibilities, cont. • MEDICAL CHAIR & COMMITTEE – The medical chair and committee will be responsible for: • Managing medications and supplies • Organizing and running the clinic while in Ghana • Coordinating the Medical Records system before and during the trip • Acting as liaisons between clinical and non-clinical volunteers • Providing information on and coordinating travel health and immunizations before the trip • PUBLIC HEALTH CHAIR & COMMITTEE – The public health chair and committee will be responsible for: • Developing public health educational lessons and materials designed to meet the specific needs of the communities • Training team members on public health issues in the communities and interventional strategies • Coordinating health outreach programs to local schools and/or communities • CULTURAL CHAIR & COMMITTEE – The cultural chair and committee will be responsible for: • Educating the team on the culture of the Ghanaian people, specifically the Volta Region and the Ewes (greetings, ceremonies, festivals, traditions, behaviors, practices, customs, clothing, food, etc.) • Preparing language/medical translation training materials for the team (esp. medical terms) • Developing presentations on Ghana’s governance, health care system, economy, state of development, or any other topic as needed REACH 4 Ghana | PO Box 889, Richmond, VA 23218 | www.reach4ghana.org

Time Commitment • Team meetings • Essentially Every Other Week (twice a month) • Meetings run approximately One Hour in Length • Most work gets done outside the meeting…update rest of team on progress, delegate responsibilities • Team leaders brief the team on updates/logistics • One board member will attend each team meeting • Minutes from each team meeting must be sent to board • Fundraisers - Planning and hosting • Global Health Elective - Attend 4 Saturdays in the spring REACH 4 Ghana | PO Box 889, Richmond, VA 23218 | www.reach4ghana.org
