After the first successful album, "Microphones on street corners", Niel continued to write worship songs and it was the beginning of 2012 when Niel and Daniel Ornellas(Tree63) started talking about making a record together. Daniel has been in Nashville, Tennessee, for 10 years and has played for artists like Gungor, One Sonic Society, Brenton Brown, to name only a few, and has started producing Christian albums. Daniel suggested that Niel and him do an album together. So, began the journey of "The noise we make". When Jaci Velasquez saw Niel's music video for "Saved", she was very keen to get involved even before Daniel and Niel started talking about the album. When the Nashville project got the go ahead, Niel e-mailed Jaci and she was immediately on board. This was a huge honour due to the fact that she has sold millions of albums worldwide, had 2 Latin Grammy nominations and 3 Dove Award wins as well as singing for George W. Bush. Daniel and Niel started working on Niel's songs via Skype and they just clicked with writing together. Niel brought the songs and together they made musical sculptures for the Saviour. When the time came, Niel boarded Air France, and after 26hours of flying and layovers he landed in Nashville. There he stayed with Daniel in his home and they prepared for the recording. Everything was finalised and the musicians were booked. One of the musicians, Stuart Garrard, better known as Stu G, the guitarist and songwriter for Delirious? was set to do guitars on the album. This was so exciting and an incredible honour for Niel who has been a huge fan of Delirious since 1999. Niel said "I remember when I heard that Delirious? was breaking up and I started to cry for hours, because it was their music that changed my life. They inspired me to write music.

  2. Their lyrics gave me some of my most intimate moments with God. I sent an e-mail to lead singer Martin Smith, telling him of how their music inspired me and my walk with God. I told him that I had a dream of one day working with them. He only responded months later, thanking me and telling me to never give up on my dream. Now I have Stu G playing my songs on my worship album. It's surreal. It's the favour of God on my life. I never gave up.“ The recording with the band took 2 days in an old house in Nashville. Was such an amazing experience, with the band listening to the song once, going into the living room and 30 minutes later, a song was done. Nothing fancy, just tasteful playing to make the songs great. Niel did the vocals and played some of the piano while at Farmland Studios in Nashville. One of the songs "Because of You" was written at EMI's studios in Nashville with Josh Varnadore, an amazing singer/songwriter and formerly in the band City Harbor. Brenton Brown sings this song with Niel and it will probably be the 3rd single on the album. It was a huge privilege for Niel to have one of the world's top worship leaders to sing with him. There is one song on the album, "We lift You up", that Niel didn't write. It was written by Josh Varnadore and Phillip LaRue, who used to be part of LaRue. "When I heard the song, I just knew that people had to hear this. It is such a great praise song." The last song on the album, "We'll tell the world" features Jaci Velasquez. It brings a great conclusion to "The noise we make". We have to tell the world that Jesus is alive. That is the noise we have to make. We have to love one another. That is the noise we have to make. The noise is love. "The noise we make" is the "to be continued" of the first album, "Microphones on street corners". We are God's instruments and it will never stop being the case. We are the sound of God's voice. We are His sound waves moving on earth. Jesus said we must go to all the nations and make disciples. This is our great commission. This is the noise we make. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xxI4bnLi4U – We Lift You Up • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUrSDe7A9aY - EPK • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTXXcgikMz8 – None Like You • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmIxOjbVCLw – Saved • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpUkcNAwLKo – Microphones On Street Corners
