Critical Incident Stress Management • CAPR 60-5 (3 Nov 2006) CISM • Defined as a comprehensive, integrated, multi-component crisis intervention system • Purpose is to mitigate psychological impact of traumatic event • CISM normally occurs as peer counseling • CISM may identify a need for professional counseling for an individual
