  7. Energy Conservation – Quick Tips • Turn off lights & equipment when not in use • Unplug personal items before leaving for day • Casual, professional dress allowed in summer months • Check out the Energy Charts in your building lobby:

  8. Water Conservation – Quick Tips • Notify Public Works Dispatch (397-6000) if fixtures or sprinklers are “free flowing” • If using locker rooms, take 5-minutes or less showers

  9. Alternative Transportation – Quick Tips • Register at www.iCommuteSD.com • Bike racks, locker rooms, & Bike CV maps available • Preferred parking for carpoolers & AFV • Flex schedules available – 9/80 & 4/10

Recycling & Reuse – Quick Tips • Recycling bins (w/ blue lids) available at ALL facilities • Common recyclable items: paper, envelopes, bottles, soda & food cans, dry food boxes, & aluminum foil • Print on both sides of paper & proofread a document on computer (instead of printing it) • Visit the Virtual Warehouse to find unused supplies

Batteries & Hazardous Waste – Quick Tips • Battery disposal containers provided for every department • Please do NOT bring in batteries from home for disposal (other options available closer to your home) • Unless you are authorized to use hazardous materials in your work, leave them alone! • Call Police Dept. Dispatch (691-5122) if you discover hazardous materials:
