  3. What’s in the Remote Kit (#50024917)? A. Insulated hose (10 or 20 ft) B. Remote duct nozzle C. Remote humidifier nozzle D. Foam gasket for remote nozzle E. Support hooks (7 or 14) F. Hose clamps (2) G. Drywall anchors (4) H. TrueSTEAM screws, 1-1/4 in. (4) I. Support hook screws, 3/4 in. (7 or 14)

  4. Additional Materials May Be Required If… • Remote hose has a downward slope. You must use a 212°F • rated Tee and P-trap. Do not use a plastic Tee. • TrueSTEAM is using an auxiliary drain. You must install a • wetted drain trap or condensate pump rated at 212°F. Pump • must have total minimum capacity of 1 gallon per minute • water flow for the vertical rise of the installation. • TrueSTEAM is installed in a living space. You must install a • drip pan with overflow wet switch under the TrueSTEAM.

  5. Installation Precautions • Refer to the remote mount • kit installation guide (form # • 69-2317) for a complete • listing of these precautions. Failure to comply with the installation manual may result in voided warranty.

  6. Tools and Parts Needed • Basic tools needed to install TrueSTEAM™ • Wire cutter/stripper • Torx driver T-20 and T-30 • Standard screwdriver • 1-3/4-in. diameter hole saw • 1/8-in. drill bit • 18-gauge wire (up to 5 conductor) • Other optional parts for advanced installations: • Condensate pump rating of 212°F (100°C) if used. • Drip pan with water sensor shut-off required underneath TrueSTEAM if installed in or above finished space.

  7. Step 1: Choosing a Location Endless Installation Options

  8. Step 2: Install Remote Humidifier Nozzle Remote adapter nozzle should be pitched upward when installed correctly.

  10. Step 4: Preparing the Steam Distribution Hose a. b. Insert the hose clamp into the slit and hoot it onto the rubber hose. Do not cut into the Rubber steam hose.

  11. Step 5: Connecting the Remote Hose

  12. Step 6: Plumbing Use only cold water. Do not use hot water supply. a. Water Filter. Insert 1/4-inch copper or plastic water line. Apply modest pull to ensure a tight fit. b. Back-flow preventer valve. Insert 1/4-in. copper or plastic water line. Apply modest pull to ensure a tight fit. c. Connect 1/2-in. drain tube. Secure drain tube to barbed fitting with hose clamp. d. Shut off the water supply. Secure 1/4-in. copper or plastic water feed tube.

  13. Step 6: Plumbing - Auxiliary Plumbing Options Choose the plumbing option that suits your installation. Use A, B, C, or D based on type of pipe or condensate pump. Consult and follow local plumbing codes in addition to these instructions.

  19. Common Remote Mounting Mistakes to Avoid c. d. b. a. a. Sharp hose bends. Horizontal run does not have minimum pitch of 2 in. per ft. b. Sharp hose bends. Hose not continuously supported at least every 12 in., resulting in hose sag. c. Sharp hose bends. Does not have at least 6 in. vertical rise immediately out of humidifier, and nozzle is not pitched up. d. Horizontal run does not have minimum pitch of 2 in. per ft. Sharp hose bends. Downward pitch does not have trap at its lowest point.
