Dr. Francis J. Tumblety, born in 1833 to Irish-American parents, is infamously known as one of America's first serial killers. An enigmatic figure, Tumblety posed as an "Indian herb doctor" and became a suspect in the notorious Jack the Ripper case. His life was marked by criminal activities, including selling fatal abortion drugs and collecting women's body parts. He moved between the U.S. and Britain to escape the law and was linked to several high-profile cases, including the assassination of President Lincoln. Tumblety died in 1903 in Rochester, New York.
