  3. We offer Accessible, comprehensive & progressive training routes to Counselling and Psychotherapy

  4. Cert HE/PG Interpersonal & Counselling Skills • 1 year course P/time ½ day or eve per week TBC • Practice of Counselling Skills • Reflective practice • Personal & Professional Awareness looking at self – impact on others • Counselling / interpersonal theory Psychological underpinnings

  5. Entry requirements HE cert • ‘A’ level or equivalent relevant qual • English ‘C’ GCSE • Study related to self –reflection • Some training in Interpersonal/counselling skills

  6. PG CERT • A Degree – English ‘C’ GCSE • Study related to self –reflection • Some training in Interpersonal/counselling skills • Work related experience

  7. Cert • Stand alone qual ending there – used as CPD in numerous roles – youth work HR / social work / teaching / NTAs / care • As a prep for Diploma - the Counselling /Psychotherapy practitioners course BACP Accredited • Can lead to the BSc Therapeutic Counselling - Masters Degree in Psychological Therapies

  8. Diploma HE / PGDip Counselling • 2 years • Practitioner training in line with BACP Gold Book criteria • Accredited by the BACP • Support throughout towards individual accreditation

  9. Entry • Certificate of at least 90 hours training skills & theory • The ability to write academically – Harvard referencing (essay examples may be requested) • Be open to learning about yourself & emotionally robust, ability to reflect • Cope with course demands

  10. Subjects • Counselling practice & supervision • Personal development • Relational approach – integrative framework- humanistic / psychodynamic plus • Reflective practitioner (research proposal) • All tutors are practicing therapists / supervisors / accredited BACP-UKCP

  11. Facts • Mondays 10-5pm some Friday eves and sat workshops 2/3 per year • Price £1,950 per year (app) • 40 hours of personal therapy -you fund • Training supervision – you fund • Both above from approved list of suitable practitioners

  12. Facts • Placement of 1 / 2 hours client contact in suitable clinical setting(supported) • Supported in-house by named person • Approved by the University – for your learning and safety • Progression possible to Masters level

  13. BSc Therapeutic Counselling • Weds PM 1-5/6pm • Top up from Dip – 1 year – leads to MA Psychological Therapies • In line with employer expectations e.g NHS/ trend towards professional status, BACP accreditation. Mods – Existential /Humanistic. Issues & Debates Psychodynamic & Relational Group therapies

  14. 2 X Masters degrees in MA Psychotherapy ( from PG route) 1 year part time 1 eve week & 9 Sats Psychiatry & mental Health Researching Psychotherapy Reflective practitioner Therapeutic Relationship

  15. MA MA Psychological Therapies • Choice of several CPD modules throughout the year, either 4 day blocks, 4 Fridays, or evenings. Including - • Person-Centred • CBT • Issues and Debates • Art Therapy • Drama Therapy • Group work
