  1. 24th March 2014 First this morning we predicted what things floated and what will sink and then we tested this. At the end we knew which objects floated and which ones sunk. Today we made we made boats and tested whether they floated. “ I learnt that you can make boats out of bottles and containers. I used these because they are lighter” ZaynulAbideen “ I learnt that some things can sink and some things can float. I didn’t know an apple floated everyone thought it would sink!” Awais.

  2. Tuesday 25th March. Today we were testing our boats and seeing who was the winner. We tested them by putting gram weights on the boat to see which one will sink first. Breanna, Jermain, Ariba and Sayeed won their boat carried an amazing 1900 g before it sank!! Then we were making invisible ink. We made it by mixing lemon juice and water. In ink A we used 3 teaspoons of lemon juice and we mixed it with 1 of water – this was our strongest concentration. Our weakest was ink C we made it out of 1 teaspoon of lemon and one teaspoon of water. We are waiting for the results!! “ My favourite thing was testing the boats.” Ariba. “ I know how to make invisible ink.” Aiman “ I learnt what concentration means in science. It means how strong something is.” Jermain

  3. Wednesday 26th March First thing we talked about our invisible ink results. Ink A was best because more lemon juice in it. So the concentration of lemon juice was higher. We’ve been making volcanoes out balloons and paper mache. On Friday we are going to test who can make the best eruption. This afternoon we have been learning how to make fizzy lemonade. It is made by adding things to lemon juice. We added sugar to make it sweet and used bicarbonate of soda to make it fizzy. We all tried it!! Some of researched the famous scientist Albert Einstein. “ I liked when we wrote about Albert Einstein. We learnt he was a famous scientist and he was perhaps the most best scientist in the world.” Armaan “ I liked it when we was finding out which things made water fizzy.” Zain. “ I liked the part when we were decorating the balloons ready to make volcanos.” Hamza

  4. Thursday 27th March Today we were busy in working in different classrooms making different things. In Mrs Rafique class we made plants and learnt all about flowers and things that don’t live. In Mrs Shars class we made slime using glue, green food colouring and flour. It was rather messy!! In Mrs Hardys class we made rice crispy cakes. We were learning about changing solids to liquids. We melted chocolate in the microwave and mixed it with rice crispies. In Miss Samuels class we learnt about the force of rocket ships and used paper, balloons and crepe paper to make our own. “I liked the bit where we went to make some plants because they was so nice.” Logan “Making my slime was my favourite because it was squashy” Hannah “I liked making the cakes because they looked so tasty!” Lyba

  5. Friday 28th March On the last day of Science Week we painted and decorated our volcanoes and we put clouds that were made of wool on and bushes that were made out of crepe paper. We started to write about how to make our volcanoes; we talked our materials that we used and how we made it. In the afternoon we made our Mothers Day cards and we went to ‘Mad Science.’ We learnt about static electricity and current electricity. We found out about circuits with conductors and resistor. “My best part was when we was painting our volcanoes. We were making skies and brown volcanoes” Dylan “I like the bit when we put clouds and bushes because when you cut things your hands can get some exercise” Sayeed “I liked it when the lady made the light flash when we were holding hands” Hafsa
