Supporting Project Management with AMF

This presentation discusses the role of AMF in supporting effective project management, led by Jeremy Fienhold and Don Kranz. Key topics include the importance of a high-level assurance ontology for inter-tool information sharing, as well as the impact of decomposition on design flexibility. It emphasizes the continual review of IV&V efforts, coordination with developers, and identification of process improvement opportunities. Future enhancements to ORBIT integration, reporting capabilities, and user interfaces are also outlined to boost project configuration support.

  2. Introductions • Don Kranz • Lead Architect for AMF & AWB • Jeremy Fienhold • Lead Analyst on a project using AWB

  3. Analysis & Management Framework • Provides a high level assurance based ontology that allows information to be shared between IV&V tools. • Too much decomposition reduces flexibility, modularity and portability of design. • At the simplest level we deal with: • Projects • Participants • Artifacts • Assessments • Actions

  4. IVV 09-1 Manage Responsibilities • “A continual review of the IV&V effort • Revision of the IPEP as necessary based upon updated Mission Project schedules and development status • Coordination of the IV&V results with the developer and other appropriate management groups • Promotion of technical exchange between IV&V and the developer (to improve technical knowledge transfer and increase IV&V effectiveness) • Identification of process improvement opportunities in the conduct of IV&V”
