  2. The Film Industry is made of 6 different areas • Development • Production • Facilities • Distribution • Exhibition • Export

  3. Skillset.org has shown that there’s around 400 permanent registered companies in the film UK Industry. 43% Production 13% Distribution 44% Exhibition Much of the distribution is funded by foreign companies.

  4. Independent Production Companies • Television Companies • Government Bodies • Co-Productions with Hollywood

  5. Lionsgate and Pathe predominantly distributors.

  6. Much of the Funding while coming from foreign companies also depends a lot on: • Public Funding • Financial Aid from the government

  7. UK Film council was set up by Labour in 2000 to promote the UK film industry. It was funded by the national lottery. The council was abolished in 2010 and many of its functions were passed onto:
