  3. 2012 London Olympics • Proved we can do interoperability • Brought many services together successfully for pre-planned event But…… • Interoperability across the country is inconsistent However…. • JESIP has built on success and best practice to establish a national standard • It is the most ambitious training programme for the emergency services

Implications…..?Benefits for Wider Responders • No change to the level, nature and timing of engagement with the emergency services • All responders will benefit from improvements in how the emergency services work together at the incident scene • A better coordinated and more efficient command structure will make integration of the activities of wider responders easier and more beneficial for all

To help wider responders…. • JESIP Wider Responder Awareness Package • Available in two formats • Self Learning by an individual with narrative • Downloadable for use at meetings / group presentations with speaker notes • Both versions available on JESIP website & YouTube • Circulated to LRF’s via Cabinet Office in March 2014

Everyone knew it needed to happen • Excellent feedback from initial courses • An event that does not happen enough – Ambulance • Overlooked for far too long – Fire • Good to understand other agencies work as we only meet each other on scene – Police • All services engaged, over 1800 commanders already trained, over 6000 registers for future courses • Devolved Administrations and Crown Dependencies will adopt JESIP
