  3. D I E - Describe Interpret Evaluate • Describe – what are they studying (comprehension) e.g. is it a book, painting, biography etc • Interpret – what is it saying about Oliver Cromwell? Is he a hero? Is he a villain? Is he both? (comprehension & inference) • Evaluate – Marrying the Description and Interpretation together to come to a conclusion. Can a painting be trusted? Did the author know Cromwell? Was he writing after Cromwell’s death? (Analysis)
