  2. What is the JSNA and who is it for? The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) identifies the key health and wellbeing needs of the population within the county. It is the place people go to get information and intelligence to support decision making. The JSNA focuses on evidence of need, evidence of what works and feedback from residents about what is important to them. You can influence what it contains.

It is predicted that almost 1 in 5 of the county’s population will be 65 or over by 2020 The teenage pregnancy rate in Corby is 53.7 per 1,000 girls aged 15-17, placing it in the top quartile in the country and well above the regional average of 39.2 per 1,000 In 2012 it is predicted that there are 25,128 people aged 75 and over that live alone Northampton has the highest rate of common mental health conditions in adults, above both the national and regional average The number of people aged over 85 is expected to increase by around 5,000 in the next ten years There are an estimated 9,746 children aged between 11 and 16 in the county with any mental health disorder; there are a further 3,841 aged between 5 and 10 with any mental health disorder Across the county, disability free life expectancy can vary from 52.8 years to 68.4 years for men and 58.8 to 70.6 years for women In September to December 2010 there were 561 hospital occupied bed days on CAMHS wards by patients aged under 18
