  4. A woman named Luba Harrington returned to her New York apartment from her summer home last fall, bringing with her some flowers from a garden. When she began to arrange the flowers in a bowl, small grayish fly flew out. “I didn’t bother killing it.” Mrs. Harrington says. “It was such a small fly.” The lady and the house fly

About 30 minutes, however, Mrs. Harrington came back to the room. Plastered against the outside of the window was the fly, and it was, she insist, beseeching her. “So I opened the window, and it flew in and went downward to the lamp on the desk, where it was warm.” Mrs. Harrington says. “It stayed there a while and then it flew over to me and finally landed on my knee.” The lady and the house fly
