  1. Night of the Notables A cross-curricular research project between Language Arts and Social Studies

  5. After extensive research, all seventh grade students celebrate with a Night of the Notables. Adelita Aguirre at the 2011 Night of the Notables

  6. Students dress up for the special night. These are sample costumes students wore; some were simple, some elaborate.

  7. During Night of the Notables, parents, community members, and friends interact with the notables. Guests receive a list of questions to ask you. Be prepared!

  8. You are the teacher! Information will be memorized. We will practice before-hand.

  9. Students will analyze and synthesize information from their research. You will present information through the multiple intelligences.

  10. Board requirements are tweaked a bit every year as we continuously improve.

  11. Students must remain in character. You will elaborate on your long-lasting impact and contributions to society.

  12. Sometimes females portray males. Jasmine chose to portray Galileo’s timeline as viewed through his telescope. How will you show your creativity?

  13. It’s a time to convince, communicate, and celebrate with hundreds of guests!

  14. Notables answer all questions in first-person. Critical analysis of research and lots of practice allow you to speak confidently and fluently.
