  2. Country of Origin • Montana, Italy (now Motovun, Croatia)

  3. Year of emigration from country of origin to the US • We moved in June of 1955.

  4. Reasons • After WW2 my home became a part of Yugoslavia which fell under communism causing us to move.

  5. Where I first lived. • I first lived in Nazereth, Pennsylvania

  6. Occupation/role upon arrival • I took a job in my uncles garage being a mechanic in 1959 and began racing stock cars.

  7. Was I an indentured servant? • No my family became legal citizens and shortly after I began racing.

  8. Living/working conditions in US(compared to my homeland) • My town in Yugoslavia had became communist and so there was more freedom here.

  9. Races won • I’m the only driver to win the Daytona 500, Indy 500 and Formula One titles, and many other titles.

  10. Why was I received well by the native community? • Because I had become real popular in racing.
