In this gripping personal narrative, I recount my experience during the devastating Christchurch earthquake of 2010. It was a beautiful day, but at 4:35 PM, everything changed as a 7.1 magnitude quake struck near the city. I ran for safety and joined others in panic as widespread destruction began. With roads blocked and countless aftershocks following, survival seemed uncertain. I reflect on the loss of life, the chaos, and the resilience needed to rebuild amidst this tragedy. My story is one of survival and hope after a harrowing natural disaster.

The Extra Shake By Harrison
I was walking past the Christchurch cathedral it was a nice day up into when the earthquake hit.
It was 4:35 it all started shaking I ran away form any building and joined with a group of people.
I Sprinted back to my house, the news was that a 7.1 magnitude quake that hit us, you could hear the screaming of the people.
The quake caused widespread damage and caused several power outages mostly in the city and was bad for us as we could not cook any thing.
The Earthquake was 40 kilometre west of Christchurch and ripped building.
It was felt from Invercargill to Wellington we heard. As the massive wave spread.
The roads were undividable the cars buried in the rubble there was no escape. We were trapped and all we could do was wait.
181 people have been confirmed dead, it was a sad time. I was lucky that I wasn't pinned down under rubble.
There has been around 7,000 after shocks, it feels like a continuous wave of movement, I am glad for it to be over and starting to rebuild.
