  1. Looking for Hands-On Volunteer Experience? Look no further!

  2. The Program is Provided by Mid-MO AHEC, in cooperation with PCRMC • For ONLYS&T Scrubs Members!

  3. What does this mean to me? • Once you pay your Scrubs dues ($10/semester or $15 for the year) you are eligible for the Program. • Complete the Application Packet • Not a bad deal, huh?

  4. What is this Program? • Patient Ambassador • Provides opportunities to assist and serve PCRMC patients, families, visitors and staff through volunteer opportunities

  5. What will I get to do? • The Ambassador will take part in activities such as: • Reading to patients, • Changing television channels • Communicating with patients and families, • Providing blankets and comfort items as needed.

  6. Other Duties… • If patient requests any food or drink items, the nurse must first be consulted. • May participate in refreshing water pitchers, picking up and delivering food trays to patients as requested by the floor staff. • A Patient Ambassador provides guests information and supports the efforts of the floor staff.

  7. What you will NOT be doing. • The Ambassador will not be involved in direct patient care. • Is not responsible for cleaning rooms, or assisting patients to the lavatory.

  8. Are there any Restrictions? • Must be 18 years old • Be a paid member of Scrubs • A sophomore or higher • If you are a Freshman, you will need to meet with the Scrubs officers before you sign up

  9. What do I need to do to Sign up? • Complete the Application Packet • Bring your Drivers License • Sign the Background check paperwork • Provide your immunization records

  10. What does it Cost? • The cost to you is $10.00

  11. Important Dates • I will be in the Study Lounge next week in the evening for Questions • Paperwork is DUE by Friday September 12th • Hospital Orientation is Thursday September 18th • First Session begins Sept 22

  12. Other Details • There are 2- 5 week sessions per semester • At Least 10 slots per session (hoping for 16) • There is a uniform • Polo is provided • Black slacks or khakis • Comfortable shoes
