Congratulations to Corrie Kitching (Manager) who, on 24th November, passed and received certification on her Level 4 CCLD at SCQF Level 9 December 2012 Issue 2 Stompers Nursery News Dates for your Diary 21st December 2012 Nursery will close at 4.00 pm for the Christmas Break 7th January 2013 Nursery will re-open at 7:30am 8th-18th January Enrol your child at school for summer 2013 placement 21st-25th January Parents Evenings Care Inspectorate Inspection We received a care inspectorate inspection over a 2 day period on 22nd and 24th October 2012. The report draft was received on 20th November 2012. The staff all took part in having an input into the Action Plan which was submitted on 4th December 2012. The final report has been received and has been posted on the parents notice board on the stairwell for viewing.   2. Nursery Changes • The Jumping Jacks room will be redecorated and receive a new layout over the Christmas holidays. This work is being carried out to make improvements within the room. We have purchased new furniture and resources to extend on the room’s provisions. Parents Committee Unfortunately the second Committee meeting did not take place on 4th December , where parents gave their apologies as they were unable to attend. We will issue letters to the Parent Committee Members within the first week back in January informing them of a new date to establish who will be taking on which role within the committee in order for us to take the committee forward. • Staff Changes • In January there will be some small changes in staff within the rooms. This is due to staff moving from full-time to part-time hours. • The changes will be made within the Mini Movers, Twinkle Tots and Jumping Jacks room. We want to do this with as little disruption to the children as possible. • Room staffing will be as follows: • Mini Movers Justyna, Dorota • Twinkle Tots Carly, Ailsa, Sarah • Jumping Jacks Freda, Uliya, Lisa, Stevi Children’s Reports We hope all parents enjoyed reading their child’s reports. Please use the response page to write any comments and return the slips back to your child’s room. Parents Evenings will take place at the end of January where parents will have a chance to speak to their child’s keyworker in more depth about their development. Christmas Party The Christmas Party held on Saturday 15th December had a massive turnout. Thank you to all the parents, children and staff who attended. We hope you enjoyed receiving your gift from Santa. • School Placements • School or council nursery placing requests for summer 2013 need to be put into Aberdeen City Council between 8th and 18th January. • To enrol your child please see our ACC Application Information which is on the stairwell and Leaping Lions noticeboard.
