  1. Article1: Luciemedispa.com Types Of Massage Therapies And Its Health Benefits If you are reading this, I am under the impression that you are interested in knowing about massage therapy. Well, the benefits of massage therapy are well known. Whether you want to relax or get rid of the pain in your body or improve your mobility, massages can help you anyway and every way. As said above, massage can help you deal with almost any condition, but one should keep in mind that there are different types of massages which can get you better results in particular types of conditions. Let's have a brief look at the types of massages:  Swedish massage therapy: Commonly known as simple massage therapy, this is the most common type of massage. This type of massage is very gentle and relaxing. Massage therapists use circular movements and long smooth blows on the shallow layers of muscle using massage oil or lotion.  Aromatherapy massage: This is done by adding one or more fragranced plant oils, known as the essential oils to the massage process. Different types of essential oils are used to address specific problems. One of the most common types of essential oil used in aromatherapy massage is Lavender oil. This type of massage is particularly used to combat stress related conditions.  Hot stone massage: in this type of massage, smooth stones are heated and placed on certain energy centers in the body. Hot stone massage is recommended for people who have muscular problems but prefer a lighter massage.  Deep tissue massage: This type of massage target deeper layer of muscles and connective tissues. Deep tissue massage is used when a person is suffering from painful or tight muscles, postural problems, or trying to recover from an injury.  Pregnancy massage: This is also known as prenatal massage, and is increasingly popular these days among expecting mothers. The massage therapists should be certified for this and must know the proper way to support and position woman's body during the massage. Pregnancy massage is used to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and relieve pains and swelling.  Reflexology: Reflexology is most commonly known as a foot massage. Though it is more than a simple foot massage, it includes applying pressure on certain points of the foot that correspond to certain organs of the body. Reflexology is very relaxing and it is advisable to people recovering from illness.  Shiatsu: it is a form of Japanese bodywork in which finger pressure is applied on different acu-points points in the body. This pressure is applied in a rhythmic sequence which helps the flow of energy in the body. The relaxation that shiatsu helps in achieving is pleasantly surprising.  Thai massage: Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work. In this type, finger pressure is used to regulate certain energy points, just like Shiatsu, but the therapist here also keeps moving and stretching you into specific poses. This massage is known to be the most energizing than any other kind. It also reduces stress and improves the range of motion of a joint.
