  1. MEd in Adult Guidance The PG Adult Guidance Programme has been delivered by the University for nearly 20 years. This course is aimed at practitioners who offer guidance to adults making choices about education, training, employment and personal development. It is becoming increasingly evident that a relevant qualification in guidance is an essential requirement for guidance practitioners which will benefit the client, the practitioner and the organisation they work for. Supporting the development of practice competence is a key element of this course and the encouragement of reflection on alternative theoretical perspectives and policy. This flexible programme is aimed at front-line guidance staff and professionals with a guidance role from a range of organisations. Each module has an associated distance learning study guide and the learning experience is supported by workshops and a course website. One of the benefits of the workshops is that the students have the opportunity to work with and learn from colleagues and professionals working in a wide range of settings and from various agencies and services. This face-to-face networking has greatly enhanced participants’ appreciation of the breadth of guidance provision in Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom.
