This article examines the potential windows of opportunity for cardioprotective interventions in various categories of donors involved in cardiac donation after circulatory determination of death (DCDD). By analyzing factors influencing heart viability, the study highlights strategies that could enhance outcomes in heart transplantation. The findings aim to improve donor heart preservation techniques and expand the criteria for acceptable DCDD donors, ultimately contributing to better transplantation success rates.
