To survive the zombie apocalypse, a nerdy teen named Michael, his 3 classmates and his crush, Jennifer, must make refuge in their high school and kill all of the zombies that try to break in.” Log line
The Setup • We follow a brief coarse of the nerd’s life. During this time we find out that he was popular in elementary school and that Jennifer (The badass girl) once liked him. • We meet the Nerdy teen’s parents and friends. • We find out that the nerd purposely got detention to spend time with his crush, who already got detention. • Once all the 5 students are in detention the principal leaves and goes home.
The zombie creating virus outbreaks. Turning Point 1
Stage 1 • The 4 students hear an ear-splitting noise and are drawn to leave detention and find out what has happened. • The students find there way outside and see explosions, fire and people running and screaming in fear. • The students try contacting family members, but realize that there is no cellphone connection. • They decide to go to a nearby Wal-Mart to stock up on supplies, like food and guns, to defend themselves against whatever catastrophe happened.
Protagonist (Michael) meets a zombie at the Wal-Mart. Turning Point 2
Stage 2 • The students arrive at the Wal-Mart and see that it’s deserted. • They look through the isles for supplies and the “Badass” guy finds the gun supply as well as a huge supply of explosives. • The Nerd teen comes into contact with one of the zombies. • One of the students (the very knowledgeable one, Sam) is killed by the zombie.
They make a decision on whether they are going to make a base camp in the school or flee the state. Turning Point 3
Stage 3 • The students decide to make camp in the school. • They stock up on all the guns and supplies they can find and barricade every one of the school’s entrances with wood, chains and other materials. • The nerd gets closer to his crush and the “Badass” guy (John) starts hitting on the “Badass” girl (Jennifer). • The “Badass” guy and the “Badass” girl compete on who is the best zombie killer by counting their number of kills and how the zombies were killed.
The “Badass” guy (John) is killed by the zombies. Turning Point 4
Stage 4 • The 3 students realize that they won’t be able to survive the apocalypse in their basecamp. • The nerd devises a plan to kill the most zombies possible, while being able to get out of the school alive. • The students put the plan into affect and the nerd secretly plants numerous explosives in and around the school, in a funny musical montage. • The night before the students initiate the plan, Michael and Jennifer connect and have a brief romantic moment.
The next day, the nerd blows the barricades keeping the zombies out of the school and the zombies sprint into the school in search of the teens. Turning Point 5
Stage 5 • The 3students begin unloading all of their firepower into the hoard of zombies, creating a very bloody and gory mess. • Due to the third student’s over excitement, he is killed by a zombie. • Since, the third member of the group was killed, the plan can no longer work and Michael leads Jennifer to the roof. • Michael throws down a ladder, blows up the school with every zombie still inside of it and he and Jennifer escape.
The Aftermath • Michael and Jennifer finally kiss. • The two students decide to leave the state to find a refugee camp. • The couple ends up in Las Vegas. • In Las Vegas we see that they are having fun brutally murdering zombies as a couple.
