What was the Japanese-American Internment???? • During World War II the U.S. government forced more than 120,000 Japanese Americans to leave their homes and along with farms, schools, jobs, and businesses. In some cases family members were separated. From 1942 to 1945, they lived in internment camps.

  3. “A White Man’s Neighborhood” This is just an example of some of the signs that Americans had up for the “Japs”.

  4. Life In Internment Camps • Many camps were located in the desert facing unbearable temperatures • Summer over 100 degrees • Winter was minus 30 degrees • The food was limited proportions of vegetables and meat. Most of the food they grew themselves.

  5. Internment Camps This is one of internment camps that the Japanese live at.
