It is a guide for local areas, schools, pre-schools, and other professionals It tells them what the law says about education for children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) It was last updated in 2001 The current Code of Practice covers education for children and young people with SEN in school The new Code of Practice will cover education and support for young people from 0-25 years, so this will include information for colleges as well as schools
