Metacompetence

This session aims to provide insights into the national approach to public health meta-competence. We will discuss local assessment improvements and interim support as the public health curriculum undergoes review. Key questions include how to identify and address gaps in meta-competence within current training programs intended for Director of Public Health (DsPH) roles. We will explore options for enhancing training through increased time, variety in placements, consultant-level tasks, and the use of diverse trainers and 360-degree feedback tools for effective trainee support.
