About Coach smith • Graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in English • This is my fourth year teaching in Granbury ISD. • I am the JV volleyball and Varsity softball coach here at the High School. • I love the outdoors and being involved with any sporting activities, so if you involved in an extra-curricular please let me know and I will come to some of your events.

  3. Summer Vacation This summer I had the opportunity to travel to Maui. Hawaii with the varsity volleyball team. We had an amazing trip with lots of neat cultural experiences and beautiful sites. In addition to the beauty of the island, we won the Kamehameha Maui Invitational!

  4. supplies • Spiral Notebook • Wide Rule Notebook paper • Blue or black pens • Pencils • 1 Package of 3X5 index cards • 1 box of Kleenex • May bring newspapers for extra credit tomorrow August 27.

  5. Expectations • Good manners • Following directions • Be respectful of other people and their property • Come to class prepared to work daily • If you do not have anything nice to say, then do not say anything 

  6. Tardy Policy • Students are expected to BE ON TIME to class every day • We will follow the GHS Tardy policy • Students will present a tardy slip from the tardy calculator to be admitted to class • Students must be in their seats when the bell rings

  7. Late Work phone policy • Use only if I have given permission as a class • All assignments are due on the DUE DATE! • 25 points will be deducted from the grade you receive for any assignment turned in late • If it is a special circumstance, the student may speak with me in private and I will make the necessary adjustments on a case-by-case basis.

  8. Make-up work policy • Work assigned before you were absent is due • THE DAY YOU RETURN TO CLASS • Refer to the student handbook for the length of time given up to complete the make-up work • Each student is responsible for HIS/HER own make-up work and should not be worked on during instruction • Make-up test or compositions must be scheduled with the teacher the FIRST DAY the student returns to class

  9. Discipline Procedure • I expect you to show everyone respect and treat others how you want to be treated. • I will give you 2 warning in class, after the 2nd warning, your seat may be moved • After the 3rd warning, you will be placed in the hallway or sent to the office • If the problem continues during the same day, an office referral will be immediately issued.

  10. Restroom Passes/Hall Passes Tutorials Please use the restroom before you come to my class! Unfortunately, I do not have morning tutorials, but I will offer afterschool tutorials by appointment only. Please come talk to me or email me if you have questions or concerns about your grade. Conference Period– 2nd period
